Cool/Punk/Funky Styles For Short Hair?

I’ve got short hair above my shoulders. I’ve got bangs parted from the right, and the hair that frames my face is longer than the rest of my hair. My hair goes from long to two inches shorter in the back, so it looks like a frowning face from the back.
My friends wants me to make my hair look “funky” and I want to make it look kind of punk. What can I do with my hair?
No mohawks, please.
